Educational

I am always looking for unique teachable toys and clubs to help enhance my children’s learning. Little Passports is one of the BEST that I have come across. Each month your child receives fun and engaging materials that teach them things like: foreign language, geography and history. They also learn about each country’s native animals and food. Plus, cultural arts and more.

How it Works:

The first month you receive the Explorer Kit which is all the basics: suitcase, passport, world map, an introduction letter and a boarding pass to the first set of online games you can access.

Then each month after that you receive your ongoing Monthly Country Kit. This kit comes with a stamp for your child’s passport (which is also the countries flag), a pin so your child can find the country on their world map, activities that relate to the country that month such as word scrambles, recipes and crafts, a sticker for the suitcase, an informative letter from Sophie or Sam explaining the new destination, a postcard and souvenirs from the country, plus a new boarding pass to unlock even more online games!

All of the games and activities each month are geared towards educating your child on a specific country + region. There are postcards with unique animal species, recipes (like the yummy Brigadeiro Recipe- a chocolate treat from Brazil), the word searches that helped my kids learn a few words in the native language etc…

Below are some photos from Little Passports so you can see the details in the activity pages.

Fun

I think it is so important to find ways for kids to have fun. Especially, fun that does not involve screen time. Our experience with Little Passports has been just that. Although, there is the computer aspect with the online games my kids have been using the kit is all sorts of creative and imaginative ways.

Whenever friends come over they pull out their suitcase and show off all their keepsake trinkets. Usually, after that they make believe that they are leaving on some exotic trip. They pack their bags and head to the backyard (or in their minds some far off country).

Another fun thing the kids and I have been doing together is cooking. Each month when we learn what our new country is I look up easy recipes we can make together to celebrate. So far we have made Pao de Queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread) and Chicken Gyoza (Japanese Dumpling) in addition to the recipes that sometimes come in their monthly country kit.

I love seeing my kids actively using their imagination. Little Passports is a great jumping off point that engages kids in learning about all the amazing countries around the world.

Exciting

Remember the excitement of receiving mail as a kid. I had almost forgotten about that feeling. As adults getting mail usually includes bills too- NOT fun. But, for a kid the anticipation and excitement that comes from receiving a package in the mail is like having Christmas EVERY month. You would think they were ripping open an envelope containing a million bucks the way my kids tear open their Little Passports package each month. I love being able to provide them with an activity that encompasses this type of excitement.

Overall

I am a less is more type person when it comes to toys. In fact in our family we have traded spending money on toys and instead we opt for experiences and travel. However, Little Passports wins my seal of approval. Not only for the great products that they create but for engaging my children and helping them become more culturally aware and inspiring them to want to get out and explore the world around them.

By teaching them about other countries, cultures and customs at a young age I feel like I am opening up their minds to look at the world in a new light. I would highly recommend Little Passports to all of my family and friends. It makes a great gift for any child and the fact that each month it keeps on giving makes it even better!
