Temecula 4th of July Events- incl. a few within driving distance

San Diego & Temecula 4th of July Events

Sunny summer days, afternoons spent in the pool, the smell of BBQ in the air; these are just a few of the great things about July in Temecula. This is one of my favorite times of the year, and it all kicks off on July 1st at Murrieta’s Birthday Bash. It’s held at California Oaks Sports Park from 2 pm- 9 pm with live entertainment and a firework show. We love throwing down a blanket at the park and just hanging out. After this, we kick it into 4th of July mode around here. In SoCal there are tons of great options for how to spend the holiday. Here’s some of ‘em!

Where to go for the 4th of July in and around Temecula & San Diego

Disneyland

We love heading to Disneyland for the 4th of July. The parks are usually covered in red, white and blue decorations, there are special eats and drinks, and “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.” But, this can also be one of the busiest days of the year, so we always book a room at the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian and hang out in the pool most of the day.

Check out what Disneyland has planned for July 4th plus other events going on in Southern CA.source

At night you can view the fireworks in the Downtown Disney area or if you feel like splurging book a concierge level room at either hotel. They have special viewing areas, treats, snacks and drinks + they pipe in the music. It’s AWESOME!!!

Another added benefit of booking the room is we have found July 5th to be a very quiet day at the parks 😉 If you are headed to Disneyland anytime this summer you may want to check out my post on 10 Ways to Beat the Heat + Outsmart the Crowds at Disneyland or 10 Things to do in Anaheim besides Disney if you plan to stay a few days.
