When you are heading for a Coronado Beach Resort, you want to make sure that you find the perfect one for you and your family. I have been to several Coronado Beach Resorts and I have to say the Loews Coronado Bay Resort is by far my favorite. The warm crisp air at your back and the bright California sunshine on your face greet you as you step out in front of the Loews Coronado Bay Resort. Surrounded by boats and yachts in the marina with a view of the Coronado Bridge in the distance you feel as if you are worlds away from the fast paced LA/ San Diego lifestyle.
Then the real magic happens as you enter this gorgeously designed lobby with a stunning dual staircase. The light shines through the large open design and you take a deep breath. You are now on vacation.

Loews Coronado Bay Resort- My favorite Coronado Beach Resort
Service:
Warm, friendly and eager to please is how I would describe each of my interactions with the Loews staff on our recent stay in Coronado.
From the second you arrive, it is as if you have stayed at this resort for years by the way you are warmly welcomed by each of the Loews staff members.

Rooms:
The rooms are crisp and clean with a island-chic vibe. The plush bedding is inviting and plethora of fluffy marshmallow pillows makes it an offer that is hard to refuse.
As if you weren’t relaxed enough already the light blue hue in the room instantly soothes you and the gorgeous views of the Coronado Bay out the massive sliding door transport you to a far off land. The ocean has this amazing ability to completely melt every last worry away. You deserve this!

You continue your relaxing journey as you enter the large bathroom complete with a super deep soaking tub, glass-enclosed shower and plenty of feathery soft towels.
Dining:

There are multiple food and beverage outlets on property including Crown Landing, which shines a spotlight on San Diego’s distinct character and flavors using the freshest seasonal, sustainable ingredients. This is especially convenient for business travelers as the Loews location is a bit off the main drag in Coronado.
Crown Landing offers indoor and outdoor seating with impressive views of the marina. My daughter and I had the pleasure of dining outdoors for breakfast. The chef prepared a trio of fresh pressed juices for us to try. We sampled the Sunrise (orange), Energy (green) and Rejuvenate (pink). They were all delicious and they reminded me of the healthy juices we received each morning when we were in Bali. Such a great boost in the morning! Honestly the energy juice woke me up so much that I didn’t even need my regular cup of morning coffee.
Once again the wait staff was over the top with outstanding service. Ella immediately dug in to her kids scrambled eggs and bacon while also sampling the perfectly ripe fresh fruit that came with my California scramble. Healthy dining is abundant here.

Silver Strand Exchange also boasts a juice and smoothie bar as well as grab and go salads, sandwiches and snacks. You can also grab a cup of joe at the friendly coffee bar featuring Starbucks coffee.
Looking for a quick bite or poolside drink? La Cantina has your back serving up legendary mojitos (my fav), cheladas and margaritas. They also have a variety of made-to-order tacos, salads and other tasty options.
Loews In Room Dining is also a fantastic choice. Ella and I discovered their heavenly fruit filled chocolate tacos. The vanilla bean cream filling is divine!!! If you are looking for a treat this one would be hard to beat.
Kid Friendly Rating:
Loews definitely stands by their “Loews Loves Families” mentality as children are not only welcomed but celebrated by the staff. Whether it was the lobby staff or the waitress at Crown Landing, my daughter’s comfort was just as important as mine. And, I could tell she appreciated being acknowledged by all the adults.
Loews also offers kid friendly menus and special activities especially during peak seasons. Ella is eager to come back this summer to explore their kids aquatic adventure program.
Going Above & Beyond; Loews Loves Families
Not only is Loews focused on being kid friendly, but they have recently rolled out their “Loews Loves Families” program. It is all about encouraging experiences that engage multiple generations and meeting the needs of each individual family. There is customization for each family and specialized programming for everyone from babies to teens. I think this is such an awesome concept and love the idea of bringing families closer together while on vacation.
Even better, with this new families in mind mentality you can pack lighter because they will be providing things like outlet covers, bottle warmers, and basic necessities. I know my older kiddos will love the Tween/Teen supper where they get to go off and have dinner with their peers instead of mom & dad.
Lastly, you have got to check out the Family Road Trip Package discount being offered all summer in celebration of this new program! Learn more here.
Pet Friendly Rating:
We have 3 furry members of our family who usually get left behind on our vacations. However, Loews is a pet friendly hotel so this time my daughter was able to bring her Shitzu-Poodle mix named Paris with us.
I was delighted to see the staff excited to see my daughter walk up with her prized pup. They oogled over Paris and Ella soaked up all the attention. Upon check in we received a pet amenity bag, which included water, & food bowls, treats, a door sign to let the staff know when the dog was in the room and clean up bags in a cute bone shaped holder for Paris. We had read online pet beds were available but I would recommend reserving one in advance if possible as there were none left when we arrived.
Paris was welcomed to roam around the hotel grounds with us and she was even able to sit with us at breakfast on the patio at Crown Landing. Unlike so many other pet friendly resorts we never felt that the staff was annoyed or bothered by Paris’ presence. Instead they seemed excited to see her which was a breathe of fresh air.

Overall:
The Loews Coronado Bay Resort is the perfect spot for families with their well appointed, relaxation inducing, spacious rooms, top notch service and kid friendly amenities. Although, a little off the beaten path this hotel more than makes up for it with their family fun pools, gorgeous views of the marina and delectable eateries. I would highly recommend the Loews Coronado Bay Resort for your next staycation. Don’t forget you can bring your pup along too!

It looks gorgeous there! The only Loews I’ve stayed at are the hotels at Universal Orlando but they are all so nice!
What a thorough review, and your pictures are stunning. We’re usually campers when we travel, but we have to go to San Diego on business later this year. Perhaps we’ll check this out. Do you have other San Diego posts I can check out?
Wow. Where to start with how much I want to go visit this place?! Beautiful photos, and I love how truly kid-friendly and dog-friendly it is. Do you mind me asking where you got your daughter’s shirt? My own daughter is currently obsessed with all things Paris and she would love that shirt if I could find it for her 🙂
Wow! This hotel looks amazing!!!! The rooms look amazing, the food looks delicious! I can’t wait to visit paris 🙂
