What You Need to Get Started

No previous experience is required, but below are a few things that will help you become a successful travel planner:

1. Knowledge and Passion for Disney, Cruising, or Travel: The more you know about Disney theme parks, resorts, cruises, and other vacation experiences the better you will perform. A genuine passion for Disney and its products will not only help you sell better but also provide excellent customer service to clients.
2. Basic Computer Skills: As a travel agent, you’ll need to work with online booking systems, manage itineraries, and communicate with clients via email or other digital platforms. Basic computer skills are a must.
3. Communication Skills: Most clients prefer email or text, so clear, engaging communication is key. We will provide you with some pointers along the way!

Ready to Take the Leap? Here’s How to Sign Up!

Signing up with Best Day Ever Vacations is a breeze and is done completely online. You can choose between two training paths, we will dive into both below.

Classic Membership:

• Best for travel agents most interested in booking trips for friends, family, and those in their community.
• There are no minimum booking requirements. You can book as much or as little as you want and as often as you want.
• Access to the Disney College of Knowledge.
• We pay a high commission rate, 70% (Standard travel agencies are 50%).
• You will receive full and continuous training to keep you informed about our products and the best sales strategies.

Fast Track Membership:

• Best for travel agents looking to jump-start their career.
• Fast Track agents receive a steady stream of incoming leads from Best Day Ever Vacations, agents typically book their first vacation within 2-3 weeks.
• You will have a one-to-one travel agent coach.
• You will receive additional training and resources from Best Day Ever Vacations including how to market yourself, video tutorial trainings, Full Itinerary Planning Templates for your clients, and more.

How Do I Get Paid?

The short answer: commission!

In the travel industry, the supplier (for example Disney, Royal Caribbean, or Universal) pays out a commission that is split between the travel agency and travel agent. At Best Day Ever Vacations, we start new agents out at a whopping 70% commission!

Here’s what this looks like in reality. You book a vacation for a client that pays out a commission of $500, as the travel agent you’ll collect 70% of that which is $350.

Let’s break it down even more…

The cost of an average Disney Vacation for 4 people is $7,367. The agency commission is 10% and you receive 70% of that.

$7367 * 10% = $736.70 * 70% = $515.69 Agent Commission for 1 Booking

Now that you know how you will get paid, let’s talk about the best part—the discounts! As a Best Day Ever Vacations travel agent, you can enjoy:

• Incredible discounts on Disney Cruises (we’ve sailed for as little as $25 a day!)

These perks can each be used once a year and allow you to stay at Disney resorts, sail on Disney cruises, and visit the parks at a fraction of the cost. It’s all about immersing yourself in the experiences you’ll be selling to your clients, making you an even more effective agent. All that said, what are you waiting for? One thing to note: To access these perks, you’ll need a CLIA membership, which costs around $120 per year. Some agencies require you to hit certain sales thresholds before you can access these discounts, but not us! We make sure you can start taking advantage of these benefits right away.

FAM Trips

Aside from discounts, travel agents also have the ability to go on FAM trips. These are trips meant to help agents gain firsthand experience with a destination, hotel, or tourism board. These trips come in many shapes and sizes from solo adventures to a Sandals resort to Disney World with many other agents.
