Fight Hunger, Spark Change™

*This is a sponsored post in partnership with General Mills. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thinking of a person who doesn’t know where their next meal is coming from is extremely heartbreaking. Unfortunately, it is the reality for far too many in the United States. We are an adoptive family and hunger issues are a struggle in my children’s biological families, so when the opportunity to do something about hunger in our community rises we are more than happy to take it. Recently food banks are experiencing even more demand. General Mills has partnered with Walmart to Fight Hunger, Spark Change™ in the communities across the U.S. We love taking part in it and you will too!

Less Hunger. More Joy.

The kitchen is one of the happiest places in our house and probably the place where we spend the most time together. We love chatting about our days, creating new things together, and learning about the best ways to fuel our bodies. It’s also the place where we have some of the most important conversations as a family, like about how lucky we are to have a full pantry and fridge and how it’s important to help others who don’t.

Taking action in the fight against hunger when you buy a participating item at Walmart. Specially marked #fighthungersparkchange packaging means that your purchase will help a local food bank secure a meal.
When I told the kids about the Fight Hunger program, they were all in. After all, some of our favorite foods like Honey Nut Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch are included. We buy foods like cereal, fruit snacks, and granola bars weekly and now these foods have more purpose than just keeping our own bellies full.

Here’s How You Can Help

This program is really pretty simple, when you buy a participating item at Walmart, you will be helping your local food bank and someone in your community. How awesome is that?

Some of the Qualifying Items

One of the best things about this program is that the foods you will be buying to help out are household must-haves anyways. This means by purchasing food you would likely be buying anyway, you will be helping local food banks. Here are some of the participating items that you can add to your cart now! It’s that easy!

Our food banks are experiencing more demand than ever and thanks to Walmart and General Mills we can all take part in helping out. Next time you head out or go online for a grocery trip, be sure to look for specially marked items that will help secure a meal for someone in need.
Each eligible purchase = $.10 donation to Feeding America, up to max of: $950,000. See for more information.
