This is a sponsored post in partnership with iD Tech STEM Camp, however, as always all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
Summer is almost here, I can hardly believe it the year just flew by so fast! Summertime in our family means lots of bonding time and travels, but as the kids have gotten older I have made a concerted effort to sign them up for at least one camp as well. I think it is so important to help your children foster a love for learning and, in order to do that, they need to be allowed to explore the topics and areas that they are passionate about without having to worry about tests and grades. This is what summer camps are ideal for, but how do you know which one to choose?
The Best STEM Camp + Why I Am Sending My Child This Summer
Did you know that 80% of the fastest growing occupations in the U.S. depend on mastery of mathematics and scientific knowledge and skills?* Pair that with the fact that people with STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) degrees enjoy higher earnings and are less likely to experience joblessness* and you can see why STEM is all the rage right now.
It’s also the reason I signed Ella up for summer camp with iD Tech. iD Tech has over 20 years of experience and their camps can be found at 150 of the world’s top Universities.
I was also impressed to hear that iD Tech has over 400,000 alumni, you don’t have that kind of following without getting results! They also have a great mission statement, “to create life-changing tech experiences that embolden students to shape the future.” They also emphasize the importance of girls being involved in their programs with a 50/50 gender parity and an all-girls program called Alexa Cafe– which Ella will be attending this summer!
5 Things I LOVE About iD Tech’s STEM Camp & Why It Was The Right Choice For Us
Kids Learn In-Demand Skills They Can’t Get In School
With STEM careers in high demand, why not invest in your student and give them hands-on experience with skills such as coding, game development, robotics & design? The best part is they won’t even realize they are learning because they will be busy having so much fun!
iD Tech summer camps have fun events like dress-up days, raffles, outdoor activities, gaming tournaments, music video parodies and so much more! The fun atmosphere helps take the pressure off the students so they can build a lifelong passion while meeting new friends.
Small Class Sizes + Great Instructors = A Winning Recipe!
Another thing I noticed about iD Tech was their promise to never have more than 10 students per class. This allows your child to get enough one-on-one attention with their instructor, plus time for self-led discovery too.
Of course, we all know that the quality of the instructors at a summer camp makes a huge difference in the amount of information your child absorbs. Which is why I was happy to learn that iD Tech courses are taught by world-class staff recruited from the top talent from universities like Stanford, RIT, and Caltech!
Multiple STEM Camp Course Offerings
Remember I mentioned you want to be able to find a STEM camp that offered a course your child was passionate about? iD Tech makes this simple by offering 50 cutting-edge courses for students ages 7-19. They can learn to design video games, produce videos, learn to code, design Fortnite-inspired levels, mod Minecraft, create with Roblox, engineer robots, model & print 3-D characters, work with AI, build laptops and so much more!!
Ella, for example, is taking a course on Video Production for YouTube because as of now, she wants to have her own YouTube channel when she gets older. This course will allow her to learn skills in video technology while feeding a personal interest it’s a total win/ win!
State-of-the-Art Software & Hardware
We all know how quickly technology changes and quite often our schools can’t keep up. So, I feel it is a huge benefit for kids to be able to work on top-of-the-line software and hardware which is what iD Tech offers. Students will work on the latest from Adobe, Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Epic Games, Unity, Roblox, and X Labs.
All Girls STEM Camp Option with Alexa Cafe
Even though it’s getting better, there is still so much stigma around girls when it comes to science and math. So, I was really excited to see that iD Tech also offered an all-girls option.
It was actually the first summer STEM camp that Ella was super excited to attend, like begging me daily to get her signed up kind of excitement. I think she feels more comfortable and confident around other girls and the subjects were more female-focused as well with courses on video design and photography.

I agree all kids need to experience the enjoyment of fun science and math activities. And I love it when fun and learning are combined! I’ve never heard of this camp I will have to check it out!
I’m really impressed by their offerings and the fact that they partner with so many of the top universities.
This is great to know about! My grandchildren love science and math and are just getting close to the age where they could benefit from this. And lots of great info here about what to look for in a STEM camp too.
That is awesome! Definitely keep it in mind. I will let you know how my daughter likes it
This is brilliant, wonderful that there are camps for all different interests nowadays so that kids of a variety of abilities are accomodated. Also so important that STEM isn’t just seen as a boy’s only domain as you’re so right in saying that there’s still a bit of a stigma around girls entering these fields!
Yes, I love how they have emphasized getting girls involved.
This sounds so awesome! I’ll definitely have to look into it once my kids get a little older!!
Yes, do keep it in mind. They have been around so long I am positive they will be there and probably even better when your kids are old enough!
This is such a great topic to write about! Science and math is such an important part of life as we know it and children should be shown from an early age that it’s not as boring as it seems! I’ll definitely be sharing this with my family members with children!
Thank you for sharing! I totally agree with them, getting kids to enjoy math and science skills is key
This looks so awesome! I wish we still lived in So Cal! Abby would be all over that STEM camp!
Good news, they offer STEM camps at over 150 universities all over the country!! Check it out!!
This was really informative! I never had the opportunity to attend camp when I was a kid, and I really want my daughter to get to have the experience. I will definitely be checking into STEM camps when she gets older! xo, Brittany Nicole | http://www.theblistblog.com
What a great opportunity for the kiddos!
Do they offer scholarships and grants to those who can’t afford their camps? I looked them up and couldn’t find anything about that. I would be cool if that was an option because I know a few kids who would really benefit from and enjoy this kind of camp. It sounds like a great camp to help the future generations.
