The 2019 Toyota Sequoia Platinum is a gorgeous vehicle with plenty of space for the whole family plus some added luxury features that will make mom feel like a queen. I recently had the pleasure of test-driving the Toyota Sequoia for an entire week and trust me I did not want to let it go when the time came to hand over the keys. Check out some of the features that turned us into raving fans below.
Fall Fun in the 2019 Toyota Sequoia Platinum
Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the colder weather, getting to wear my favorite sweaters, cook meals in the crock pot again (so much easier) and, of course, I love all of the holidays that kick off in October as well. One of my favorite things to do in the fall is visiting our local pumpkin patch. It was so fun this year to have a car that fit the whole family with plenty of room for everyone’s pumpkin to come home with us too!
Tons of Space
The 2019 Toyota Sequoia fits up to 8 passengers and they all get the luxury of riding in comfort too. The Platinum edition fit the 7 of us as it had the two captain chairs as opposed to the available bench. My older two boys quickly claimed those seats as their own the second they caught a glimpse of the control for heated seats- hey I guess that is a perk of being older.
With as many kids as I have (5, yes that sounds crazy) I love a car that can quickly and easily convert from mom’s taxi cab to mom’s shopping vehicle and the Toyota Sequoia did this perfectly.
What do I mean? Well, I buy a lot in bulk and I often need added cargo space. I loved that the 2019 Toyota Sequoia Platinum offered a one-touch fold-flat feature on the third row. It made switching from passenger car to cargo car a breeze. Plus, the folding flat is huge too. It made it so easy to load groceries in, pumpkins too!
Drives like a Gem
With the holidays comes tons of events and activities which mean we are driving all over town. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to drive the Toyota Sequoia. I have opted for minivans in the past solely because I had test driven some larger SUVs and quite honestly I was scared to drive them.
I think part of it had to do with the different options for seat adjustments for the driver. I was able to easily adjust the seat to fit my tiny 5 foot 1 body type. I also loved how the steering wheel adjusted towards me too.
The real perk was how easily the Toyota Sequoia drove including its incredible turning radius. I still cannot believe how easy it was to flip a U-turn in that big SUV. It also was super easy to park too thanks to the sensors and the backup camera.
Speaking of the camera and sensors another feature that makes the Toyota Sequoia great for families is the standard pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. As moms, we find ourselves in busy parking structures and school parking lots with kids darting out in front of you sometimes. It was awesome to know that the Toyota Sequoia offered collision protection using the in-vehicle camera and radar technology as well.
Safety is obviously a huge priority and I don’t think I have ever felt safer in a vehicle. The Toyota Sequoia was the best of both worlds because it was big enough to feel 100% safe inside but it was also a breeze to drive. I felt completely at ease behind the wheel despite the massive size of the vehicle.
Extra Perks for Road Trips
We love a road trip so, of course, whenever I get the chance to try a new car I am always looking to see what features it has that would make road trips easier and more comfortable. The 2019 Toyota Sequoia had a bunch.
For starters, the kids quickly noticed that there were three 12V outlets. You know kids these days, always looking for where they can plug in their electronics- ha! My boys even tested out their XBox in the car which I can happily report was “Super Awesome” as my boys put it.
With seven of us in a car, things can get pretty squishy real quick on a road trip. However, in the Sequoia there was plenty of storage space to keep all of their devices plus whatever else they decided to bring stored away and out of sight. There were a bunch of cup holders too!
Overall Views of the Toyota Sequoia Platinum
After being steadfast in the minivan department I can say the Toyota Sequoia has completely changed my mind about family vehicles. Not only did the Sequoia offer superior comfort and storage for my family and all of their many things, but it also offered the convenience (auto fold-flat seats), super easy driving, and the peace of mind that comes with purchasing a Toyota (trusted brand for reliability, star safety system, and 2 years of Toyota care on new purchases and leases). This is one car that should be on the top of every family’s list. I would encourage anyone with a large family to check out their local dealer so that they can take a test drive and experience the Toyota Sequoia for themselves.
