You know what time of year it is; longer days, the beginning of that indistinguishable lingering sunscreen smell and bright sunny days spent in your favorite spots. It’s Spring and that means the season of Spring Break vacations are upon us! Our family thought long and hard about what the perfect Spring Break trip would be for us this year, and we landed on Sedona. I actually booked this trip while on my current vacation. Normally, I am not planning one vacation while enjoying one, but Expedia is having an incredible sale which I had to jump on. The Perfect Hotel & Activities for our Spring Break Getaway!
The two most important things to consider when planning a trip are your home base and the “big” activities you want to partake in. Once you’ve set these in stone, the rest of the trip planning becomes easy. Below you will find our favorite hotels and activities, which can all be booked through Expedia!
Amara Resort and Spa
Amara Resort and Spa is our top contender for hotels in Sedona right now. It is nestled under the beautiful red rocks, offering an incredible view from the rooms and the pool area.
We love being active on our journeys so the Amara Resort & Spa fits right into our wheelhouse. Some of the other amenities we can’t wait to experience are:
- Stargazing sessions hosted by local astronomy experts – I can’t wait to check out the amazing sky above the Arizona Desert, I have heard it is incredible.
- Soothing spa treatments at our award-winning on-property Amara
- Ella and I will definitely be partaking in the Daily Yoga class
- Spa Heated infinity pool and hot tub
- Bike Rentals – I don’t know what it is about when I travel but I love going on a scenic bike ride. It is just so soothing and so much fun with the family
- Of course, I will be enjoying delicious craft margaritas and some al fresco dining at their signature restaurant, SaltRock
Lastly, there is a free area shuttle (a huge perk for exploring!), and there are tons of activities in the surrounding area. Not to mention it is a green and sustainable property!
Our Top Activities in Sedona
I think the hardest part of booking a vacation for me is finding activities to entertain the whole family. Often I find myself spending hours researching. I love that Expedia has a ton of activities right on their site, with customer reviews, pictures, and all the information you need right at your fingertips. Plus with the 10% OFF Promo Code: LIKETOGO10 I booked all my activities in just a few minutes. Here are our choice for our Sedona adventure
ATV Guided Tours in Beautiful Sedona
When my boys saw that there were ATV tours in Sedona, they were all in on this vacation. The last time we did ATV’s most my boys were not old enough to drive them, so they are thrilled to be able to head through the desert on these 4 wheeling machines.
While they will be enjoying the adventure of the ATV’s I will be enjoying the beautiful views of the Sedona Landscape.
Broken Arrow Off-Road Tour
We’ve been told that a visit to Sedona would not be complete without a Pink Jeep Tour, so we knew we had to look into it! We can’t wait to explore Sedona’s outback on one of these rugged adventures. There is no better way to really get a beautiful view of the red rock canyons that make Sedona so special!
Zipline Adventure at Out of Africa Wildlife Park
Our kids honestly love zip-lining, and while we’ve been over the treetops in Maui and through the jungle in Costa Rica, we’ve never been zip-lining with the backdrop of red rock canyons! This zip-line is located in the Out of Africa Wildlife Park, which means you can squeeze that into your day as well.
Antelope Canyon Scenic Tour
Antelope Canyon is one of the most photographed places in Arizona, and it’s no surprise why because it looks stunning. We really wanted to explore this area but weren’t sure how to go about it, so I was stoked when I found a tour option through Expedia! They take you to see all the best parts of the canyon and you will get to learn about the Navajo’s ancient culture and history.
Grand Canyon Tour
Surprisingly, after all of our travels, we have never been to one of the most iconic places to visit even though it is just a state away from us. I was so excited to find out that the Grand Canyon is close enough to Sedona to take a day trip there? I didn’t know when we started planning, but I actually think this could be an awesome family adventure! A historic train will bring you to the Grand Canyon, then you will have some time to explore before hopping into a tour van to see both the south and east rim views.
Where will this Spring Break Take You?
There is nothing like exploring somewhere new with your family. Planning this trip has seriously been a breeze through Expedia, and I feel like the hotel we’ve found and the activities are both going to be exactly what we were hoping for. We only get 18 years with our kiddos, and they go by so fast! That’s why we’ve made it such a big priority to travel and spend time together while we can, and hopefully, we’ve inspired you to do the same. Just don’t forget to smush together for a family selfie every now and then!
