The last time we visited Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite it was transformed into a winter wonderland, but it turns out a trip up to the lodge in the summertime can be just as magical. Here are 3 reasons that make a summer visit totally worth it.
1 Location
Located in the evergreen forests, just outside the gates of Yosemite National Park, Tenaya Lodge is in the perfect location to set off on all your adventures. The lodge is situated right along Highway 41, meaning you can reach all the Yosemite sites, from Tunnel View to Half Dome.
You can even find all of your favorite summer pass times within the resort or just a quick drive away; from yoga, to hiking, mountain biking, and golf.
I would love to check out Tenaya’s Mountain Morning Yoga Sessions. I enjoyed a wonderful yoga session during the winter but the chance to practice outdoors with such a glorious backdrop sounds divine, and sessions are only $15!
If yoga isn’t your thing, you can head straight to the Ascent Spa on site for some amazing relaxation, chill at one of the pools or book a tour with the hotel concierge. There’s definitely no shortage of things to do when staying at Tenaya Lodge.
2 Unlimited Summer Fun Pass!
This pass will help you to achieve all those things you want to do for just $75 (valued at $119). It will get you tickets to guided hikes, archery, rock climbing, and bike rentals.
You have 24 hours with the pass to do as many of the offered activities as you would like. It’s a pretty great deal!!!
3 Summerdale BBQ
Nothing says perfect summer night better than gathering around a campfire for storytelling and yummy food. I’ve heard it’s a big tradition at the lodge and one worth experiencing for sure. There’s even the Summerdale String Band there to lead you through your favorite campfire songs.
Sounds incredibly nostalgic to me since I grew up camping in Yosemite with my dad and we always went to the ranger campfires where they would sing all the campfire songs. I have always wanted to recreate that type of an experience, but I love my luxury accommodations and my husband doesn’t camp. This would be the perfect way for us to get to enjoy campfire songs MINUS the hassle of camping.
BONUS PET-FRIENDLY
We have three furry members of our family (meet them over on our 3DogsAndASuitcase Instagram account that we just started) and during the summer we LOVE to include them in our travels and Tenaya Lodge just happens to be an incredible hotel for pets.
In fact, Tenaya Lodge is the West’s Best Pet-Friendly Resort, according to the Sunset Magazine Travel Awards. The list of amenities to pet owners is outstanding they have everything from a Pet Concierge, to House Made Doggie Treats, Dog Toys, Beds and more!!! I can’t think of a better place to visit with your pets than Yosemite and I know there is no better place to stay with you pet while you are there than Tenaya Lodge.
