Our family has sailed on over 20 Disney Cruises, and every time we return, the most common question we hear is, “Is a Disney Cruise really worth the cost?”
Disney Cruise Line offers some of the most magical and luxurious experiences at sea, and while it can come with a higher price tag, we believe it’s well worth the investment. In this article, we’ll break down the cost of a Disney Cruise, what’s included, and if the higher price is really worth it.

What’s Included in the Price of Your Disney Cruise
When you are looking at how much a Disney Cruise costs, I think one of the main factors you have to take in is how much “stuff” is included. Passengers on Disney Cruises can expect the full Disney experience throughout their trip.
What’s Included in Your Disney Cruise Fare
- Spacious staterooms with thoughtful, family-friendly design
- All meals in the main dining rooms, buffet, quick-service spots, and room service
- Unlimited soft drinks, coffee, tea, and soft-serve ice cream
- Broadway-style shows and original Disney productions every night
- Movies under the stars and in-theater, including new Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars releases
- Pools, splash zones, and waterslides like the AquaDuck and AquaMouse
- Age-specific kids’ clubs for infants, children, tweens, and teens, all supervised by trained Disney counselors
- Character meet-and-greets with Mickey and friends, Disney Princesses, Marvel superheroes, and more
- Access to Disney’s private island (Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on select sailings)
- Deck parties, fireworks at sea, and themed events like Pirate Night
- Adult-only spaces, including pools, lounges, nightclubs, and sun decks (*adult dining experiences at Palo or Remy are extra)
- Exceptional service and immersive Disney theming throughout the ship
- Use of the Disney Navigator App to plan activities, view menus, and stay connected onboard
- Luggage handling, port fees, and taxes included in your cruise fare
Let’s take a deeper dive into everything included!
Incredible Meals with a Splash of Disney Magic
Meals are included with your cruise fare. Each ship has rotational dining, where you will visit one of three restaurants each night. Your waiter travels with you as you dine at each new location! This is a huge plus because each waiter we’ve had has been a blast. Many have done magic tricks for our kids, and all have been some of the most caring, kind people we’ve ever met.

In addition, there is a buffet and plenty of places to get food around the clock. There are several quick-service spots where my husband loves to grab a pizza, as well as 24-hour room service. You can even get Mickey Ice Cream bars delivered to the room!
Unlike most cruises, onboard a Disney Cruise, you will enjoy endless soda for no additional fee. Tea and coffee are also included while aboard in addition to all-you-can-eat soft serve ice cream with all the toppings.
The only food charges you will encounter are for optional upgraded dining experiences and special desserts from the sweet shops.
Broadway Musicals & Blockbuster Movies
All ships have theaters with live Broadway musicals (yes, they are actually good shows) along with unlimited access to movie theaters that offer Disney’s & Marvel’s newest movies.
You might just find yourself viewing the latest Marvel thriller or a brand-new Pixar film. We saw Black Panther onboard right when it was released!
The Best Kid’s Club EVER!

If you asked my kids what they love most about a Disney Cruise, they’d instantly say the Kids’ Club. In our experience, Disney’s Kids’ Clubs truly stand out, blowing every other cruise line out of the water!
Normally, my kids aren’t big on kids’ clubs, but Disney’s is on another level. From the jaw-dropping themed rooms to the incredible staff, it’s an experience unlike any other. No other cruise line even comes close to the magic and care Disney puts into their kids’ spaces.
Character Experiences
There is no other ship at sea that offers the character experiences Disney Cruise offers. You may find yourself casually strolling by Captain Hook or Peter Pan. Characters have several photo opportunities scheduled throughout the day, where you can get your picture taken with your favorite character.
Plus, in the Kids’ Club, characters will come and visit and play with the kids. So, if your family loves Disney characters, there are plenty on board to interact with.
Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay

If you’re sailing on a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas or Caribbean, your fare includes a stop at one of Disney’s incredible private destinations: Castaway Cay or the brand-new Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Both islands offer stunning beaches, fun water slides, snorkeling, and plenty of space to relax and play. And yes—all the food on the island is included in your cruise!
Want to upgrade your day? Disney offers private cabanas at Castaway Cay for an additional cost. They’re definitely a splurge, but if it’s in your budget, this is one upgrade that’s totally worth looking into.
My BEST TIPS to Save you Time & Money when Booking a Disney Cruise
Before we dive into the exact costs, I have to share my tips for saving time and money on a Disney Cruise!
Tip #1: The most important thing you can do when planning a Disney Cruise is to book as early as possible. Prices almost always go up as the ship fills up, so the earlier you lock in your reservation, the better deal you’ll get.
A few summers ago, we paid just over $4,100 for a verandah cabin on a 7-night cruise. Our friends waited to book and ended up paying $3,000 more—for an inside cabin!
The good news? Disney only requires a deposit upfront, and your final payment isn’t due until 120 days before the cruise, giving you plenty of time to plan and save.
Tip # 2: This one might surprise you, but it is my best tip. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, book directly through the Disney Cruise site, you are wasting time and money! I know; it seems like you would get a better deal, right?
But the fact of the matter is you do all the work and you pay the exact same price (if not more) versus if you went through a travel agent.
Some perks you will get when booking with a travel agent:
- You will get the same price, if not better (they know all the specials going on)
- Bonuses like Stateroom Credit = FREE MONEY! Stateroom Credit is money you can use for spending onboard like spa services, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, specialty dining & more.
- Travel Planners know the best staterooms, when you should check-in for your cruise, and what documents you will need.
- They will save you hours and hours of planning!

Tip #3: Book in the off-season! If you want to save some serious cash, book your cruise in the off-season, basically any time kids are normally in school. You will find the Disney Cruise cost to be lower in September, October, Early November, January, & February.
How Much Will a Disney Cruise Cost in 2025 & 2026?
Like any vacation, depending on what you are looking for, the price can vary greatly for Disney Cruises. Below, you will find the average cost to book a Disney Cruise for a few different itineraries.
This is the average pricing for inside, oceanview, and verandah cabins. We did not include the price breakdown for the concierge level as this option is a whole different ballgame.

So now you’ve got the basic breakdown, but what does this end up costing a family? Let’s dive deeper below!
4-Night Caribbean or Bahamian Cruise
For a family of four, a 4-night cruise typically ranges from $2,700 to $6,000.
Examples:
- Disney Wish (April 7–11, 2025): A 4-night Bahamian cruise from Port Canaveral with prices starting from $2,926 for an Inside stateroom, including taxes and fees.
- Disney Wish (May 19–23, 2025): A 4-night Bahamian cruise from Port Canaveral with prices starting from $5,112 for a Verandah stateroom for a family of four, including taxes and fees.
Pro Tip: 4-night cruises are often a better value because they sail during the weekdays!
7-Night Caribbean or European Cruise
For a family of four, a 7-night cruise typically ranges from $4,800 to $10,500, depending on the itinerary, time of year, and stateroom category.
Examples:
- Disney Fantasy (June 7–14, 2025): A 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral with prices starting from $5,824 for an Inside stateroom, including taxes and fees.
- Disney Dream (July 5–12, 2025): A 7-night Mediterranean cruise departing from Barcelona with prices starting from $7,296 for a Verandah stateroom for a family of four, including taxes and fees.
- Disney Treasure (June 28–July 5, 2025): A 7-night Western Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral with prices starting from $8,724 for an Inside stateroom, including taxes and fees.
7-Night Alaska Cruise
The Inside cabins are much cheaper on Alaskan cruises and typically range from $6,500 to $8,000 for a family of four. Verandah cabins can range from $8,900 up to $17,000, depending on the time of year, itinerary, and how early you book.
Examples:
- Disney Wonder (June 16–23, 2025): A 7-night Alaskan cruise from Vancouver with prices starting from $6,800 for an Inside stateroom for a family of four, including taxes and fees.
- Disney Wonder (August 11–18, 2025): A 7-night Alaskan cruise from Vancouver with prices starting from $7,200 for an Inside stateroom for a family of four, including taxes and fees.
- Disney Wonder (September 8–15, 2025): A 7-night Alaskan cruise from Vancouver with prices starting from $9,400 for a Verandah stateroom for a family of four, including taxes and fees.
*The Alaska cruise prices vary much more dramatically by room class, as a Verandah is so sought after.
Extra Disney Cruise Costs to Keep in Mind
Gratuities
Gratuities run about $48 per person on a 3-night cruise, $64 per person for a 4-night cruise, and $112 per person for a 7-night cruise based on the standard $16 per person, per night rate.
A 15-18% gratuity is also automatically added to alcoholic beverages, spa services, and other onboard purchases.
Shore Excursions & On-Cruise Experiences
You definitely don’t need to book a shore excursion at every port, but they can really enhance your trip—especially if you’re visiting somewhere new or adventurous. On average, plan to spend about $100 to $150 per person per excursion, though prices can vary depending on the destination and activity.
Some experiences, like snorkeling or beach days, may be on the lower end, while more involved excursions like helicopter tours or dog sledding (in Alaska!) can be several hundred dollars.
You can often book excursions independently off the ship at a lower price, but booking through Disney offers the convenience of vetted partners and the peace of mind that the ship will wait if there are delays.
Spa Services & Bibbidy Boppidi Boutique
If you’re looking to add a little extra magic (or relaxation) to your cruise, spa treatments and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique make for memorable splurges.
Spa services typically start around $150 per treatment, with couples’ massages and specialty services costing more. An 18% gratuity is automatically added to all spa services. While totally optional, booking a spa appointment can be a relaxing escape for parents during the cruise.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is available for kids ages 3–12 and offers magical makeovers starting at around $100. Deluxe packages that include costumes and accessories can run closer to $200+. These appointments fill up fast, so it’s best to book early if you know your little one wants the full royal treatment!
Alcohol and Premium Dining

Alcoholic beverages are not included in your cruise fare, so if you plan to enjoy cocktails, wine, or specialty drinks during your sailing, be sure to budget accordingly. Drinks can be purchased individually or through drink packages and wine tastings offered onboard.
For a special night out, Disney Cruise Line offers adult-exclusive dining experiences at an additional cost. Palo, known for its elevated Italian cuisine and romantic atmosphere, is available on four ships. Remy, a fine French dining experience, is exclusively offered on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
On the Disney Wish, adults can enjoy two exclusive dining options: Palo Steakhouse and Enchante by Chef Arnaud Lallement, offering some of the most luxurious meals at sea.
These upscale restaurants are perfect for a date night or special celebration—and well worth the splurge if it’s in your budget.
