How to Pack a Balanced Snack Bag + Our Favorite New Addition

I have always been a snacker, preferring to eat little snacks throughout the day rather than big meals. And, I think I have passed this along to all my kids! One of the #1 rules in this family; never leave the house without snacks! I always make sure we have a wide variety of foods with us and at home to keep everyone happy.

The newest additions to our snack bag are Jack Link’s Beef Bars. These beef bars are the perfect snack to satisfy all the salty cravings! Plus, they are 100% beef, packed with protein, and low in calories. These beef bars are also gluten-free making them perfect for families with sensitivities. They come in both a Teriyaki and an Original Flavor and you can buy the multi-packs right from Target! Below, I will go over what’s typically in our snack bag along with the beef bars and how to have the perfect balance of snacks.

I find that salty snacks are usually what we crave the most when we’re being active, walking around a theme park on a hot day, or have had a long day traveling. Bonus; these snacks are also usually the most filling so I don’t find my kids asking for a second snack shortly after.

2-3 Snack Options from the Salty List

  • Jack Link’s Beef Bars

  • Baked Chick Peas

  • String Cheese

  • Hard-Boiled Eggs

  • Nut Butter Packets

It is hard to deny a sweet tooth! Having a couple of these options with you will satisfy both you & the kids’ sweets craving and keep you from eating junk.

2 Snack Options from the Sweet List

  • Trail Mix (not opposed to M&M’s being included!)

  • Sweet Cinnamon Popcorn

  • Graham Crackers

  • No-Bake Protein Balls

  • Dark Chocolate

  • Applesauce Packets or Cups

Fruits and Veggies

Fruits and veggies help you get the nutrients and vitamins you need to stay fueled through your day! Like with the salty snacks, these tend to keep my kiddos full.

1 Fruit or Veggie Snack

  • Grapes

  • Carrots

  • Apple Wedges

  • Clementines

  • Bell Pepper

  • Cherry Tomatoes

There you have it! These are all of our family’s favorite snacks. I would love to hear what your family’s favorites are and be sure to let us know if you try out the Jack Link’s Original Flavor Beef Bars!
