Festive Family Christmas Games
Cut the Cranberry Game
For a unique and hilarious holiday challenge, try the Cut the Cranberry Sauce Game! The goal is simple but tricky: carefully slice through a cylinder of cranberry sauce without letting the Hershey’s Kiss on top tumble off. It’s an easy setup that brings loads of laughs and excitement, making it a perfect addition to any holiday party or family gathering.
Christmas Bow Grab
Bring extra holiday cheer to your Christmas party with the Bow Grab Game! It’s easy to set up, budget-friendly, and perfect for kids and families. All you need are a few bows for a fast-paced, fun competition that’s sure to get everyone in the festive spirit.
Family Holiday Sparkler Challenger!
One of the best party games for teens is our holiday sparkler challenge! Hand each teen a sparkler and let them create Christmas or holiday-themed “art” in the air. Capture their creations on video and, afterward, let the family vote on who deserves the title of “Michelangelo of Christmas.”
It’s a fun, creative game that’s sure to light up the night with laughter and holiday cheer. Check it out below!
Christmas Bow Scoop
Bring extra holiday cheer to your festivities with the Christmas Bow Scoop Game! A perfect choice for kids and families, you will blindfold each player while they try to scoop as many bows as possible into a bowl within a set time. Easy to set up and guaranteed to bring holiday cheer, this game is a fantastic addition to any holiday party, family gathering, or classroom event!
Peppermint Mocha OR GRAVY Challenge
Only one cup will be filled with gravy—cue the laughs! This game might test your taste buds, but trust us, it’s a holiday hit for teens. Start by grabbing enough Starbucks Peppermint Mochas for everyone, but leave one cup empty for the “gravy twist.” Pour gravy into that extra cup, and then shuffle it in with the rest so no one knows which is which.
Each player picks a cup, takes a sip, and must keep a straight face, pretending it’s a regular peppermint mocha, even the unfortunate soul who got the gravy! After everyone’s had a turn, the group votes to guess who the “imposter” is.
Holiday Jingle Bell Chore Challenge
If you are new to us, you might not know we are HUGE fans and creators of a chore challenge! For the Holiday Jingle Bell Chore Challenge, you are going to need some marshmallows and jingle bells. Have your Teens get on the floor and hold their hands behind their backs.
Place a marshmallow at the end of the race line and on top of the jingle bell. Start the race and have your kids crawl and see who can make it to the marshmallow first and eat it!
Check out our TikTok to view all our chore challenges!
Find The Elf Chore Challenge
For this game, you will need a LOT of holiday plastic cups and an Elf on the Shelf! Take all of the cups and spread them throughout the entire room, make sure to hide an elf under one of the cups. Start the race and watch your Teens scurry throughout the room in search of Santa’s little helper!
Sing or Swim Christmas Carol Challenge
If you have a pool then you might LOVE our “Sing or Swim Christmas Carol Challenge.” This is where you get a pool noodle have one person hold the noodle teetering on the pool ledge, while the other person holds them up.
You play a Christmas song for them and randomly stop the music. Once the music is paused, the person teetering on the pool ledge then has to sing the next lyrics for the song. If they get it wrong, the other person releases the noodle and they fall into the pool. If they get it right, they stay dry!
If you do not have a pool do not worry, another way we have seen it done is a whipped cream pie to the face! One of the players holds a pie tin filled with whipped cream and if the person guessing the song gets it wrong, they KINDLY and GENTLY get a whipped cream pie to their face!
Shake-It Chore Challenge!
Grab some tissue boxes, plastic ornaments a sash, or something to tie around your waist. Place the tissue box on their back and fill it with ornaments.
Start the music and see who can shake it fast enough to get all the ornaments out of the box! This game really shows who in the family carries that dance move gene!
Bad Family Impressions
There is nothing like seeing how well your family knows each other during holiday parties! We challenged each other to act out the best “bad” impressions of each other in the name of light and fun! Like a different take on Christmas charades, let your family act out each other and guess who they are trying to be.
Elf Pasta Dinner Night
Get out the pasta and maple syrup and have an ELF-themed night with your teens! We added some extra holiday magic by challenging them to give their best Elf impression.
Of course, you have to finish the night off with the iconic holiday movie Elf!
Christmas TV Show Advent Calendar
We LOVE Christmas TV shows during the holidays so much that we made an advent calendar with some of our favorite TV holiday specials. It is a great way to countdown to Christmas and also a great way to spend some fun quality time with your kiddos.
Christmas Movie Challenge
Make family movie night a real challenge by having your teens create a presentation on why their movie pick should win! It’s a fun way to sharpen those PowerPoint skills while letting everyone make their case. Let the teens get creative and persuasive, whoever delivers the best pitch gets to choose the movie for the night!
Wrapping Paper Sibling Prank
There is nothing like a fun and good-humored sibling prank right? Our oldest was away at college and we decided to wrap his room in full holiday wrapping paper!
Make sure to watch part 2, when our Son came home to a LOT of wrapped “gifts.”

How do you play the Secret Santa Game?
Secret Santa is a great annual tradition that you can begin with the family. First you will need to set a budget for the game ($5-$100) depending on how big or small you want to make it. You then place everyone who is playing the game names inside of a bowl and let everyone choose. It is important that no one sees who the other person draws.
Once you have your person, you are then tasked to purchase them a gift within that range and be their secret Santa!
