Yes, I love our Starbucks Strawberry Acai Refresher & Iced Chai Latte recipe, but this coffee drink blows them out of the water. The best part, we made a healthy version of this amazing drink and it is just as good! So, let’s get started on our Amazing Starbucks Caramel Macchiato Recipe.
Getting Started – Caramel Macchiato Ingredients
Here is what you need to get started with this Caramel Macchiato Recipe. We are going to make enough of the Vanilla Syrup for 24 Caramel Macchiatos. That way you don’t have to do this step over and over.
- Vanilla Syrup
- Cup of Ice
- Milk
- Espresso Shots (We use our Nespresso Machine)
- Caramel Sauce
How to Make Vanilla Syrup + Healthy Option
Before you begin with the Caramel Macchiato recipe, you will need to make your Vanilla Syrup.
Classic Vanilla Syrup
- 1 cup water
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- Dash of salt
- 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
Total Calories of Syrup = 725 calories = 30 Calories per Macchiato
Mix all ingredients into a pot. Bring to a boil while stirring regularly. Let the syrup boil for 5 minutes then let cool on an unused burner for 30 minutes. Once cooled you can pour syrup in a mason jar and refrigerate or use right away.
Our Healthy Zero Calorie Vanilla Syrup (Tastes Exactly the Same!)
- 2/3 Cup Monkfruit
- 1/3 Cup Truvia Brown Sugar
- 1 Cup Water
- Dash of Salt
- 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
Total Calories = 0
Just like when you made the syrup for the Starbucks Carmel Macchiato Recipe, you need to mix all ingredients into a pot. Bring to a boil while stirring regularly. Let the syrup boil for 5 minutes then let cool on an unused burner for 30 minutes. Once cooled you can pour the syrup in a mason jar and refrigerate or use right away.
Making the Caramel Macchiato
Now that you have done the hard part in creating the Vanilla Syrup. Now is the time for the fun part of the process, making this yummy Iced Caramel Macchiato copycat recipe.
Steps
1: Get 1 Shot of Espresso or 2 for a Venti – Let it cool
2: Pour 1 tbsp Vanilla Syrup in a Glass
3: Add Ice
4: Pour 3/4 Cup of Milk over the Ice (1 1/4 cup for a venti)
5: Drizzle with Caramel Sauce (and Top with Whipped Cream if you’re feeling fancy!)
Total Calories = 185 for Grande and 245 for Venti
Healthy Caramel Macchiato Recipe
Steps
1: Get 1 Shot of Espresso or 2 for a Venti – Let it cool
2: Pour 1 tbsp Vanilla Syrup in a Glass
3: Add Ice
4: Pour 3/4 Cup of Almond Milk over the Ice (1 1/4 cup for a venti)
5: Drizzle with Caramel Sauce
Total Calories = 65 for Grande and 105 for Venti

This is definitely my favorite of the Starbucks drinks and I am so impressed with how well this recipe turned out! Even the healthy version of the Caramel Macchiato recipe tastes almost exactly the same as the Starbucks version. Not to mention, both versions are really easy to whip up, especially once you have the vanilla syrup pre-made.
