Universal vs Islands of Adventure: Which to Choose?
The main difference between the two parks is theming. Universal Studios is focused on film and TV and Islands of Adventure is all about superheroes and thrill rides.
- For Movie Enthusiasts: Universal Studios is ideal for those who love movies and want to experience their favorite films and characters in a theme park setting.
- For Adventure Seekers: Islands of Adventure caters more to those seeking thrilling rides and diverse experiences across different worlds.
- For Harry Potter Fans: Both parks offer unique Harry Potter experiences, with Diagon Alley in Universal Studios and Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure. With admission to both parks, you can take the Hogwarts Express between the 2 lands, definitely something to consider!
Now that we have the basics covered, let’s get into the nitty gritty about each park!

The Diagon Alley section is a must-visit, complete with interactive elements like casting spells with your wand purchased straight from Ollivanders Wand Shop. This section also contains the Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts ride.

That being said, I do have a favorite. If I could only visit one of the parks it would be… Island of Adventure! There is a wider variety of experiences in this park meaning it has a little something for everyone.
