hello,

Mango Rosa Resort:

Mango Rosa is known as the jump off point for Adventure Travel in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. It should also be known as one of the best laid back family destinations in the area. It’s a full service resort that offers kitchen equipped casitas, lush gardens, pool area, full service restaurant and lots of family friendly activities. Located in what might feel like the middle of the jungle, Mango Rosa is actually about 10 minutes from town on a partial dirt road, and just a few short minutes from two of the best beaches in San Juan del Sur.

The resort feels more like a cluster of private cabins in a tropical forest than a hotel-ey stay, that’s because the resort was designed for privacy, as each casita is surrounded by it’s own lush garden for privacy. And each has it’s very own hammock. That is very important!

pool

The amenities within the casita are basic, although you have everything you need. A complete kitchen, drinkable water, living room space, a full dining table, wi-fi, etc. Our casita had two bedrooms and one private bath and fit four very comfortably. And, the staff is readily available for any special requests. boat-tour

During our stay, we went on two adventures. We took a cruise aboard the Panga Rosa, a 30 ft fishing boat, up the Pacific coast. The scene was breathtaking. We stopped at what looked like a deserted beach, jumped out for a quick swim and snorkel then headed back. On our return, we spotted a sea turtle, stopped to watch from a distance, then headed back the rest of the way. The tour lasted about 2 hours and was well worth it!

surf lesson

Our second adventure was a surf lesson at Playa Maderas. We had a great instructor who worked well with both our boys. My youngest surfed for the very first time there at Maderas and he was up like a pro in the first half hour. It was a very cool experience.

Mango Rosa also offers other excursions like zip lining, kayaking, horseback riding, hiking and day trips to neighboring areas.

San Juan del Sur can be a pretty rugged place, so I’d suggest renting a 4×4 suv to be sure you can get access to the most beautiful, secluded areas.

If you’re spending time in San Juan Del Sur (which I highly recommend) Mango Rosa is a great choice for a family friendly stay. The cost is so reasonable- at around $150 per night for a family of four and includes a complete kitchen, so you really can’t go wrong.

Mango Rosa is currently offering some great deals.

You can find them here.
