College is expensive, that’s no secret! That is why I love to save where I can. Recently, I scored some great finds for Camden’s college dorm room at Walmart. I found great prices on everything from laptops and tablets to headphones, desks, and more. I am sharing some of my favorite finds below to help you get ready to send your kids back to school this fall. You can find everything listed and more at Walmart.com or local Walmart stores.

Best Tech Finds
First up is all the tech gear because I find that to be the category that adds up the fastest, plus it’s the items college kids tend to get the most use out of too.
Money Spot-
Camden’s laptop was outdated so I picked up a Samsung Chromebook for him. It was a much more affordable option, especially with Walmart’s everyday low prices. And, with Google Suite he still has the ability to download and store all of his school projects. I think the 12.5 hour battery life will also serve him well.
Dorm life can be loud and distracting so this year Cam is heading back with these noise canceling headphones from onn. Not only can you tune out the entire world thanks to the Active Noise Canceling but you can also switch on the Ambient Sound mode that allows direct sound pass through while continuing to enjoy your audio.

One of the perks at Cam’s college is access to a well-equipped gym. So, Cam spends a lot of his downtime working on his fitness. So, I surprised him with a new pair of Beats Studio Buds– he was thrilled! He had been talking about them because apparently they come with multiple soft, silicone eartips allowing a custom fit that stays in your ear better than the competition while working out. He’s already tested them out at the gym and on a flight and is giving them raving reviews.
Get Organized
All the tech stuff is fun but a well-organized study space is an absolute must. Since college students tend to move around so much the 4-5 years while they are in school we like to take a minimal approach to furnishing their dorm.

I knew I could count on Walmart for a functional desk that would easily fit within our budget and this Mainstays Writing Desk did just that. It was just under $33 and it was small enough to not take up too much space while still providing enough space for Cam to get all of his work done. I also loved that it had 2 built-in shelves for added storage.
Walmart has some great options on desk chairs too. Me and the girls had our eyes on this Pearl Blush Plush Velvet Chair or this Faux Fur Swivel Chair but since we were shopping with Camden we went with something a little more masculine.
We were deciding between this Vinyl Mesh Task Chair and this Manager’s Chair which was a similar style with arms. We ultimately decided on the latter because Cam liked the arms.
In order to keep Cam’s desk neat and tidy I picked up this Clean Acrylic Cup Organizer and Dimmable LED Desk Lamp. I also found great prices on items like Expo Markers, Pens, Pencils, Paper, Highlighters, Backpacks & more. I even found this awesome dry-erase wall calendar for just $8.87!
Keep Them Comfy
When I chatted with Cam about the must-have items he had last year he mentioned shower shoes, along with things like paper plates (he hated washing dishes in a dorm room without a sink), wrinkle release spray (he hates ironing) and an air fryer . All of which you can score great savings on at Walmart.

They also have great sets of towels and bedding. How cool is this 25-piece Trunk Bundle? It has everything your college needs to get a good night’s sleep away from home plus a lockable rollable storage trunk which would really come in handy at school.
Oh, and Cam wanted me to let you know these oatmeal cups were great for keeping him on track with his macros. You can heat up water in an electric kettle or, like he did, in a Keurig.
