Beginning Friday, November 26 and continuing daily through Sunday, January 2, 2022, Universal Studios Hollywood Christmas celebrates the most wonderful time of the year with the return of yuletide favorites and family traditions, “Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” and “Grinchmas.” The holiday celebrations are included in the general admission price.

“Grinchmas”

This year on December 1-2 & 8-9, and daily from December 14 – December 30 you can check out Universal Studios Grinchmas. As you enter the park head straight ahead past the Starbucks (try to resist) and you will run directly into Whoville. You can’t miss the giant 60 ft. Whoville tree that twists and turns in a very Whoville type of way. Here are some of my favorite things to do at Grinchmas.

Visit with the Grinch

The Grinch is a hit with the kids, and he’s amusing when he interacts with them. As you join him for a photo op, he clearly exhibits his feisty side. Plus, you can take a photo with Grinch’s cute dog Max just a few steps away.

Enjoy the Universal Studios Hollywood Christmas Grinchmas Shows

Martha May Who-vier and the Who Dolls conduct musical presentations to herald in the Christmas season in style. The Who-liday Singers, a boy-band ensemble doing a cappella concerts with a blend of Christmas songs and mainstream rock, will also be performing.

Visit with other characters from Whoville

Around Whoville you will find other great Who’s to interact with including the Mayor, Cindy Lou Who, A Who-vie Star and more

Visit the Whoville Post Office and Write a Letter to the Grinch –

The Whoville Post Office can provide you with a postcard on which you can jot down the nice things you accomplished this year and mail them to the Grinch.

A few times during the evening you will enjoy a joyful celebration with the Grinch for the Holiday tree lighting.

Universal Studios Hollywood Christmas with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Christmas will be celebrated in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter from November 26 to January 2nd. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is always a fantastic location to visit, but it’s much better at Christmas. Guests will be able to see dazzling snowfall in the land at night for the first time ever. Hogwarts Castle is transformed into a stunning light projection show with a special Christmas twist.

Pro Tip: Do not be alarmed if you see a large crowd outside Harry Potter. To keep crowds at bay, Universal divides the amount of individuals who can enter the country. So don’t be alarmed if you see a large crowd outside. The wait time is merely a few minutes. Once you enter Harry Potter Land, you will notice that it is not very crowded, allowing you to enjoy the shows.

Another delicious reason to visit is to enjoy the hot butterbeer. Although my kids did not give a try as they refuse to break way from the classic butter beer.

Other things to check out at Harry Potter Christmas:

The a cappella Frog Choir, made up of Hogwarts students and their big throaty frogs, reunites for the yearly holiday season to amuse guests with their harmonized holiday-themed tunes.

Decorative Hogwarts castle snow globes, Hogwarts crest and mascot decorations representing each of the houses, as well as a range of distinctive tree toppers and house pennant garland are among the collectibles.

“The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle” will enliven Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with vibrant imagery and amazing dimensional animations that dance over the castle in time to a musical arrangement from the Harry Potter films.

Universal Studios City Walk Holiday Celebrations

In addition to the theme park, Universal CityWalk will be decked out in festive Christmas decor. The stunning 40-foot tall Christmas tree with over 200,000 LED lights will dazzle visitors to the outdoor entertainment destination. To commemorate the season, the ever-popular Voodoo Doughnut will attract diners with a range of festive patterns and flavors.
