Have you heard? The tides have brought something new to Disney – the Disney Treasure set sail for the first time this December! When it comes to family vacations, a Disney Cruise has long been one of our absolute favorite options. The magic of Disney along with being at sea is unparalleled.
Part of the magic has always been that Disney Cruises are so incredible for families with younger kiddos. The kid’s clubs truly can’t be beat and the family-friendly atmosphere always makes for a good time. However, along with the usual kid-friendly spaces, the Disney Treasure has some incredible adult-exclusive spaces as well.
We recently had the chance to sail on the Treasure, and I’m thrilled to share all the highlights and insider tips below!
Dive into the Disney Treasure
Having been on many cruises, I can confidently say that the Disney Treasure offers a magical and memorable experience for everyone. Here’s what you need to know:
Quick Facts About Disney Treasure
- Staterooms: The ship features over 1,000 staterooms with modern touches and artwork inspired by beloved Disney films. If you love watching fireworks from your stateroom, choose the starboard side for the best views.
- 11 Decks Full of Fun: From Broadway-style shows and fireworks at sea to kid’s clubs, lounges, and pools, there’s no shortage of activities for all ages.
- Dining: Rotational dining includes themed restaurants such as Plaza de Coco and Worlds of Marvel, offering immersive culinary adventures.
- Stern Characters: Captain Hook and Peter Pan take center stage on the Treasure’s stern, embodying Disney’s adventurous spirit.
Itinerary
The Disney Treasure offers 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida. Ports of call include:
- Eastern Caribbean: Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
- Western Caribbean: Cozumel, George Town in Grand Cayman, Falmouth in Jamaica, and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
Fun fact… our family prefers Castaway Cay over Disney’s new Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point!

The Food
Disney Treasure’s 3 restaurants are as diverse as they are delicious:
- Plaza de Coco: This colorful restaurant will be themed after the Disney and Pixar film Coco. The town mariachis will entertain you through the meal with song and dance! While beautiful, some of the storytelling went over younger kids’ heads.
- Worlds of Marvel: Divided into two experiences—one featuring Spider-Man and another with Groot and the Guardians of the Galaxy. This was more trivia-focused, and unlike the Wish, there was no interactive mission or character visits at your table. On the Wish, Spider-Man himself makes an appearance, and diners actively help with a mission, which my kids loved.
- 1923: This dining room celebrates Disney’s legacy and old Hollywood.
For quick bites, the Disney Treasure will have several casual dining spots:
- Marceline Market: An eclectic marketplace offering classic favorites, international specialties, and plant-based options for breakfast and lunch.
- Jumbeaux’s Sweets: Inspired by Zootopia, this shop offers ice cream, gelato, specialty treats, and candy. You know we’re preparing to ask them to make the biggest ice cream cone ever… one of our family’s infamous cruise traditions!
- Jade Cricket Café: A quick-service spot inspired by Mulan, offering coffee, tea, and snacks
- Heihei Café: A Moana-themed café providing coffee, tea, and light bites
Insider Tip: For little ones, I still prefer the Wish’s restaurants, especially its Frozen-themed dining, where the characters sing and interact with the tables.
The Entertainment
The entertainment aboard the Treasure is nothing short of phenomenal, but one show stood out above all others.
Fireworks Viewing: While the deck parties are a classic, watching fireworks from your starboard stateroom offers a unique and unforgettable experience.
The Tale of Moana: Hands down the best show I’ve ever seen! Yes, even better than Broadway. The storytelling, music, and visuals were awe-inspiring. Don’t miss it!
Waterpark and Pools
Families will love the themed water attractions, including the AquaMouse water coaster, Mickey’s Pool, and Nemo’s Reef splash area.
However, a notable downside is the absence of kid-accessible jacuzzis on the Treasure. Unlike the Disney Fantasy and Dream, which have jacuzzis in the main pool areas for potty-trained kids, the Treasure only offers jacuzzis in adult-exclusive areas. This was a bit of a disappointment for our family, as our kids enjoyed the family-friendly jacuzzi experiences on other ships.
Insider Tip: If you’ve been on the Disney Wish, the Treasure’s layout will feel familiar. This can be great for returning cruisers, as it makes navigating the ship effortless.
Kid’s Clubs and Family Fun
Disney Treasure continues the tradition of incredible kid’s clubs with new and enhanced features:
- Marvel Super Hero Academy: An interactive space where kids can train alongside their favorite heroes.
- Fairytale Hall: A whimsical area packed with creative activities.
For adults, the Haunted Mansion Parlor was a standout. I recommend visiting during dinner hours when it’s quieter for an elevated and eerie experience.
The Disney Treasure delivers on its promise of creating lifelong memories. Whether you’re enjoying immersive dining experiences, splashing around in themed waterparks, or watching the awe-inspiring Moana show, this ship has something for everyone.
While the Treasure excels in many areas, families with little ones may prefer the Wish for its more character-focused restaurant experiences and interactive Marvel missions. Additionally, if jacuzzis accessible to kids are important to your family, you might lean toward the Fantasy or Dream instead.
That said, the Treasure’s adult-exclusive spaces, cultural dining, and exceptional entertainment make it a must-sail ship for Disney fans of all ages. Ready to book your Disney Treasure adventure? Reach out to the incredible travel agents at Best Day Ever Vacations today to learn more!
