I have been researching & testing the best wellness tips for years. Health is something that is incredibly important to me because with my frequent travel schedule and busy lifestyle (hello five kids) I can’t afford to not feel my best.
7 of the BEST Wellness Tips to Help YOU Live Your Best Life!
What I have found is there is no cheating your health, no magic pill, or crazy fad. What works? Placing your health at the top of your priority list and making small choices every day that help you reach your goals in the long run. The good news… these choices are actually super easy to make and I notice that I feel more energetic, I am happier and more in control of my emotions when I am on this path. I hope these wellness tips help you live your best life in 2019.
1 Focus on nutrients, not calories
With years of yoyo dieting under my belt, I have finally learned that the secret isn’t being crazy calculated with your calories. But, rather focus on feeding your body real food. Food that is full of nutrients that your body actually needs and craves.
I find this in healthy proteins, veggies, fruits, and some whole grains and complex carbs. Eating this way is pretty simple when I am home but when I need something on-the-go it can get tricky which is why I am obsessed with FAGE Total Split Cups.
These delicious yogurts are packed with 11-13 grams of protein, live active yogurt cultures, they are Non-GMO Verified, gluten-free, and a great source of calcium. They also feature no artificial sweeteners and no zero-calorie sweeteners. But, what I love most is the rich, creamy taste. Plus, they reduced their sugar content by 30% from 16-17g to 11g per serving.
I also love that FAGE Total Split Cups come in 3 milk fat varieties 0%, 2%, and 5%. I have tried them all and loved them. The only difference that I notice is the higher milk fat option tends to make me feel fuller longer.
The only real issue is trying to decide which flavor to choose because they are all so yummy. I think my favorite is Blueberry Acai but you can never go wrong with strawberry or cherry either, and mango makes me feel like I escaped somewhere tropical.
Which flavor would you choose? You can check out a complete list here.

2 Meditate- One of the Best Wellness Tips I’ve recently embraced.
I have to admit when I first heard of meditating I scoffed at the idea. However, after being forced to try it by my best friends I actually realized it is a great way to quiet my mind and get centered.
You don’t have to meditate for a long period of time, even 5-minutes can make a big difference. I also learned about walking meditation which is great for people like my husband who find it uncomfortable to sit in silence.
I also find that some of the free meditation apps are a really great way to get started.
3 Drink More Water
Did you know that hunger is often confused for thirst? Which is one reason drinking water is imperative when people are trying to lose weight. Water is also known to help boost metabolism, and Dr. Oz says “water is the best energy drink available.”
4 Get More Sleep
Getting enough sleep can be tough when you are trying to balance kids, marriage, and career but it really makes a huge difference in the way you operate. You see, sleep plays a critical role in your overall health and well being.
It can even lead to an increased risk of heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke. Plus, not getting enough zzz’s has been linked to depression, suicide, and risk-taking behavior.
5 Move Your Body
Making exercise a priority is another great way to feel your best. Not only do you get the immediate boost thanks to the happy endorphins it creates but it can also boost your energy levels too.
Exercise is also known for helping you keep your weight in check, improved skin appearance, and it can help lessen the risk of chronic disease. That’s enough to make me add it to the top of my priority list.
6 Drink More Tea
After visiting some Asian cultures and a couple of European ones I have become fond of drinking tea. I love that tea is full of antioxidants, it has less caffeine than most coffee, and there is quite a bit of research out there to show that it may have a bunch of health benefits too!
7 Don’t Skip Dessert (Seriously, this is part of my wellness tips)
Living my best life definitely includes dessert. So, you can bet that I have researched for hours on end to figure out the best choices for reaching my health goals while satisfying my sweet tooth.
For me, the best option is a few squares of dark chocolate. It helps to curb my sweet tooth while giving my body a boost of antioxidants including polyphenols, flavanols, and catechins.
Another great dessert option is FAGE Total Split Cups. I find that these are great on nights where I am feeling hungry after dinner because these yogurts quiet my sweet tooth down while helping me feel fuller too.
