Thank you, Stonyfield,® Organic Kids® for sponsoring this post. There are certain aspects of my life that are non-negotiable and feeding my family wholesome foods is definitely one of them. Sugar is one of the product labels I really pay close attention to, especially with products I am purchasing for my kids. We have always enjoyed Stonyfield® Organic Kids® Yogurt (formerly YoKids and YoBaby). But, just because we are a low sugar family doesn’t mean we sacrifice on flavor or fun.
Last year, Stonyfield® announced a sugar reduction across its yogurt portfolio – and it started with Stonyfield® Organic Kids®, featuring between 25% – 40% less sugar than the leading kids’ yogurt. So, when it came to creating Valentine’s for Olivia’s preschool this year, we turned to the NEW Stonyfield® Organic Kids® Choco-Mooo flavored yogurt to give her class a wholesome Valentine’s Day treat. Something cute, and chocolatey with 25%-40% less sugar than the leading kid’s yogurt brand– making it a winner in the eyes of kids and parents alike.
The Best Valentine Gift for Kids (one parents will love too)
I think the BEST Valentine Gift for Kids is TIME with their parents. So, I try to incorporate crafting projects with the girls when it comes to classroom celebrations. That said, we are a super active family and so as amazing as some crafts are, we need to stick to ones that are both simple +easy so we can actually get them done.
These easy sew felt hearts are the perfect Valentine’s gift for kids to bring into the classroom. They are bright, fun, and delicious!! Plus, NEW Stonyfield® Organic Kids® Choco-Mooo is a dessert yogurt with less sugar than leading kid’s yogurt which teachers & parents will appreciate.
All you need is sheets of felt (in Valentine’s Day colors like different shades of reds and pinks), baking twine or cute thread, plastic kids sewing needles, tape, and the Stonyfield® Organic Kids® Choco-Mooo yogurt. Depending on the age of your child, you can cut out Valentine’s hearts or have them cut out their own from the sheets of felt paper. Then, punch holes around the border of each heart. Next, help your child lace their thread or twine through the kid’s plastic safety needles. Once set up, you can help them weave the thread/ twine up & down through the holes of each heart. It is a fantastic craft for building fine motor skills!
Once you have your hearts ready you can move on to attaching them to the Stonyfield® Organic Kids® yogurt pouches. Tada you’ve got a fantastic Valentine gift for kids!! *I recommend waiting to do this until you are going to bring them into the classroom. I also recommend freezing the Stonyfield® Organic Kids® yogurt pouches.
Did you know that Stonyfield isn’t new to organic yogurt – they’ve been mom’s trusted brand for 35 years! Besides being certified organic, Stonyfield® Organic Kids® yogurts are also Non- GMO Project verified. This means each yogurt cup is made without the use of toxic persistent pesticides, artificial hormones, antibiotics and GMOs. When it comes to labels these days, things get tricky. Just because a brand calls their products “natural” isn’t a guarantee. But, you can be sure that when you see the USDA Organic label, the food it’s attached to was made by farmers who don’t plant GMO crops OR give their animals – like the dairy cows that make our milk – GMO feed. Learn more here.
Speaking of labels did you know that Stonyfield is a certified B Corp? Certified B Corps meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. As a B Corp™, they aspire to use the power of markets to solve social and environmental problems. As we have discussed here consumers have the power to choose to purchase from responsible businesses like B Corps to help protect our environment and make sure that our children and their children will have the same gorgeous planet to travel around and admire for years to come. But, it takes making responsible choices as parents right now!
What is your favorite Valentine gift for kids or for the classroom?

Aw they are so cute! I could actually make these hearts for my friends as well! Thanks a lot for the tip 🙂
xx, Theresa
You bet, they were so simple but came out really cute. We hung them in the house too!
This is adorable!!! Great activity for the kiddos to thread their art work. I’ll have to do this next week when I sub in for a teacher at the preschool.
Great idea!! It really does help with fine motor skills.
I remember doing simple sewing crafts like that as a kid, such as a small stocking for Christmas 😉 , and just loving it! Also, even though I’m mildly lactose intolerant, yogurt has insignificant amounts therefore I can actually eat this. Anything organic is A-okay in my book 🙂

That is great!! I didn’t realize that about yogurt.
Cute idea… kids love to do sewing like that and so good for fine motor control. I teach 4th grade and I have many students who can’t cut on a straight line yet.
We try to practice these skills as much as we can to prepare the kids for school. It helps. My older ones are all deans list kiddos 🙂
I didn’t realize Stonyfield used to be Yo Baby! My kids love to eat the Stonyfield yogurt tubes frozen. It’s crazy how much sugar some companies sneak into yogurt geared for kids!
I agree… I am always shocked looking at labels and feel awful telling my kids they can’t have any of that stuff. So, happy that Stonyfield took the initiative to reduce sugar across their full line.
The Choco-Mooo sounds really good! I love the easy personalization!
What a fantastic and cute idea, and yet so simple!! Definitely putting this in my back pocket. I’m also always looking for foods for my toddler without GMO’s, and she LOVES yogurt. I need to find d Stoneyfield. Thanks!
I bet she would love them!! I found mine at Target 🙂
