Hyland’s Earache Drops
Kids are in the water ALL day when they are at a lake or a beach. After hours and hours of swimming you can bet you are going to hear some complaints about earaches. A simple remedy to help relieve fever, pain, irritability and sleeplessness is a few drops of Hyland’s Earache Drops.
Hyland’s is a brand I have personally trusted for years. It started with their teething tablets when my babies were little and teething. And, then their Nerve Tonic really helped our kids deal with some of the stresses of international travel.
Hyland’s Earache Drops are a natural blend of botanicals and minerals that are homeopathically prepared. And, because they contain no alcohol there is ZERO sting- YAY! Packing Hyland’s Earache Drops can help your little ones feel better fast so you can get back to having fun!
Bug Spray
Bug bites are no fun for anyone. Not only are they uncomfortable but no they can also carry things like the Zika virus. As the CDC states that the “best way to prevent Zika is to protect yourself from mosquito bites” and the best way we have found to protect ourselves is by making sure we apply bug spray before heading out to the lake or the beach with the kids.
Anti-Itch Cream
Of course even though you try your best to protect against harmful bites it is best to travel with an anti-itch cream too just in case someone does get bit.
Our daughter tends to have large reactions to bug bites and foolishly it took us years, and even a trip to the ER in Costa Rica, before realizing how helpful an anti-itch/ analgesic cream is at preventing the bug bite reactions from getting worse.
Baby Powder
To make sure the sand stays at the beach or lake and not all over your car our go-to product is baby powder. You simply rub the powder on sandy legs and feet before you let the kids hop in the car. The baby powder dries up the wet sand making it easy to wipe off.
Bags for Wet Clothes
There is nothing worse than going to grab a warm sweatshirt in the evening only to find it is cold and damp because the kids threw their wet bathing suit right on top of it. To prevent that from happening we pack bags for wet clothes.
My favorite ones are super cute and the bags lay flat so they easily fit inside my other larger bags. And they have a moisture-resistant wipe able interior that keeps the wet stuff from getting on the dry stuff. These also work great for the potty-training days in case you have soiled clothes that you need to store.

Its the worst 🙁 Thanks for stopping by
I love taking a good book to the beach.
That is a good one. Once my youngest gets a little older I will definitely do that. Whenever I travel without the littles I love reading with the sounds of the ocean behind me. Thank you for stopping by and commenting
A camera of course! They’re only little for a short time!
OMG! You are so right. Gotta capture those memories. Thank you
Gotta have a good frisbee.
That is a good one. I don’t even own one right now. I need to fix that STAT! Thanks
I love these lists! Since I have very fair skin, I always pack way too much sunscreen! 🙂
That is smart though, getting burned is no fun. We carry lots too! Thanks for stopping by.
All of these tips and suggestions are bang on. Ear drops are a great reminder, as they work wonders quite quickly, and mitigate any potential air pressure if you’re flying to that gorgeous beach. We’re taking a light beach blanket along on our next vacay, which also serves as a pretty wrap for me. 😉
A light beach blanket is so smart. I don’t even own one. I will have to check into that 🙂
I agree with taking a book! It’s fun to lose one’s self with the sound of the ocean in the background – definitely not for someone with the little’s though!!
Exactly, but I know these days don’t last forever. Planning a trip next week to Dana Point with 2 of our older kids so I am thinking I can actually get some reading squeezed in there.
Sunscreen!
Yes, a must!!
Everyone loves a Day At The Beach!
I full heartedly agree 😉
Great post! I love the lake and so do the kiddos.

Great packing list. I always carry around sanitising wipes. They’re so useful.
Great list
Great list! I’ll be bookmarking this for my next beach day. I like to bring something to keep the baby in the shade and free from UV rays.
Awesome! Yes, shade is key which is one more reason to get to where you are going earlier rather than later when all the shady spots are taken.
Such a great list. Never thought about the ear drops, but I guess with a toddler, and a newborn I should take that into consideration. Thanks so much for the share!
It definitely helps as they become more active in the water.
Yes to this whole list! I always keep platic bags with me in my car and bug spray, too!
That is really smart. I need to keep some bags in the car.
Great list! I would have never thought of packing baby powder.
It’s so simple but I love having less sand in the car. Not to mention less complaining from the kids about being sandy.
All things that will make an outing more enjoyable! Great list & an awesome printable!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the printable
