This past Thanksgiving my husband and I embarked on a vacation of epic proportions. Us and 14 other family members headed to Disney World for Thanksgiving break. Yes, we had to deal with managing a huge group through the very crowded parks (except the water parks). Booking reservations for a party of 16 is always a blast 😉 and even just deciding what to eat was an adventure. Although it was very chaotic, the one thing I loved every day was coming back to our home at the Encore Resort at Reunion. The Encore at Reunion was perfect for a large family getaway
7 Reasons We Love the Encore Resort at Reunion for our Disney Trip
Plenty of Spacious Rooms
When we walked into our home we could not believe the endless amount of rooms. Our home had 8 bedrooms, the kids immediately raced to stake claim on their room of choice. There were actually two master bedrooms which were perfect for the adults and then several rooms for all the whippersnappers. Encore Resort at Reunion has different sized homes ranging from 3 bedrooms up to 13 bedrooms, so whatever the family size you can have plenty of space for the whole crew.
In addition to all the bedrooms, our house had a game room with foosball, large tv which the boys loved watching Thanksgiving football on and plenty of board games. Downstairs was an incredible kitchen which mom loved and was perfect for morning breakfasts before heading to the parks.
Water Park on Property
Yes, my kids absolutely loved that the Disney Water Parks wasn’t busy during the time we went, but often times those water parks are slammed (not to mention they cost quite a bit of money). The Encore Resort at Reunion has its own water park with drop slides, racing slides, kids splash area, and two pools. Plus, you can book cabanas if you want to have a nice relaxing day and beat that Florida heat.
Backyard Pool & Jacuzzi
Another great aspect of the Encore Resort is each house has it’s own pool and jacuzzi in the backyard. This is such a nice aspect of the resort. The kids absolutely loved late night swims in their own pool while I enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi. It truly is the perfect end to a long day at the parks
Encore at Reunion In-Home Chef Experience
One of the features that I was dying to try out was the Chef Experience at Encore. You can get the experience of a professional chef in the comfort of your own vacation home. One of Encores chefs come into your home and serve an incredible 3-course meal for the entire crew. They also can do cooking lessons or for a fun night with friends, a bartender will come to your home to serve some incredible custom cocktails.

Close to the Parks, Grocery Stores & More
The Encore Resort at Reunion is about 10-15 minutes away from Walt Disney World. We usually stay on property at Disney and were worried that driving to the parks would be a pain but it was such a short distance the ride was hardly noticeable. In fact, it was a lot easier then riding the Disney Buses home, the only down side is you do have to rent a car, which we always do anyway.
In addition, just down the road is a Publix and a Walmart which has online order and pick up so you don’t even have to spend a second in the store. Simply order online and grab your items when you pull up. It’s super easy.
The other nice feature is in the other direction 20 minutes away is Universal Orlando, which has some of my kids favorite rides in all of Florida. It is a definite must see
Perfect for Holidays
For the past 10 years we have traveled every Thanksgiving. We were really lucky to find ourselves at Encore over Thanksgiving week. I loved being able to prepare Thanksgiving dinner with my mom while the kids were running around the house. It was so much better then a restaurant Thanksgiving. Whether, it is Thanksgving, Christmas, 4th of July the resort gives you the perfect combination of vacation and being at home that you can’t get in many places.
Bonus Amenities at Encore Resort at Reunion
Some of the other amenities I loved about Encore was things like the Surrey and Beach Cruiser rental to enjoy rides around the beautiful property. They also have a fitness center and an adorbale little market that the kids loved to grab an ice cream at. I also just loved the feeling of listening to the kids laugh with their cousins inside the home and not be tucked inside a small hotel room. There is just something special about those moments that you can’t capture inside a hotel room. If you have the opportunity to visit Disney World, definitely check out Encore resorts. It is a great place to stay on your next Disney World adventure!
